Two BagsPrevious Page [Link]Next Page [Link]
In Your Carry On
Pack with the assumption that any bag you check will go astray for two days. With this in mind, you want to ensure that you put your necessities in your carry-on bags. These include:
  • Medications

  •
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste

  •
  • Moisturizer and lip balm (to combat dry airplane air)

  •
  • Clean underwear

  •
  • Fresh shirt

  •
  • Sweater

  •
  • Paperback book

  •
  • Copies of all travel info and confirmation numbers

  •
  • Any valuables (computers, cameras, wallet, passport, jewelry etc.)
You may even try fitting everything in two carry on bags. But if you think you can get away with two huge duffel bags, think again.

There is a scourge threatening today's airports. No, it's not Hare Krishnas. It's the tiny little frame many airports have installed on the X-ray conveyor belts to limit the size of your bags. You literally cannot fit much more than a computer laptop case through them.

But, where there's a will, there's a way. Put all of your items in several small shopping bags and stuff 'em through. Once you're on the other side, unfold your large bag and re-pack it. Voila, you and your luggage are on your way - together!
