Prepare For An Interview
Prepare a List of QuestionsPrevious Page [Link]Next Page [Link]
In your notebook write down what you see as the problems of your potential employer and how you can address them. Start thinking about it as if you are going to make a presentation on yourself to sell the product of you to the company. (That's what you are doing in the interview.) Focus on how you can keep their customers happy, create additional value for them, expand the company into new markets and new customers.
The pretty company next door
Think about getting the same type of general information about the company that you would want to know about someone you intend to marry:
The Pretty Person Nextdoor The Corporate World
Who are the parents? Is there a giant parent company?
Are there siblings?  Are there subsidiary companies?
Do they have several homes? Are there several plants/locations?
Is it a traditional, old world, strict family or a free and easy commune? What is the corporate culture and organizational structure?
Are they respectable, hardworking farmers or hot-shot commodities traders? What are their goals, philosophy and image?
Are they keeping up with the Jones family? How do they rank against the competition?
How do they make rent? What are the top money making products or services they sell?
What is the latest neighborhood gossip about them? What have trade publications been writing about them?
What would they do with a person like me in their family? What is your career path?
Do they have money? Do they have money?
